Sketchbooks

I learned I could learn to draw in 1999, when I took my first drawing class. Since then I've practiced and practiced, filling numerous sketchbooks over the years.

Currently I switch between three sketchbooks. My favorite is my brown paper "vignette journal."

Vignette Journal

I started working in this brown paper journal over a year ago, looking to play with value while capturing moments in time. Industrial things, architectural details, and cemetery landscapes make up the bulk of this journal.

I use mostly black Micron pens highlighted with white gel pen for these sketches. So far my favorite white gel pen is a plain old Gelly Roll. The journal itself is from Eco Africa.
